Spring cleaning and home painting
As we all know Spring is here. And with Spring comes Spring cleaning. This is a good time to take a half an hour and walk around the home to inspect the condition of all exterior surfaces. Look for any surface areas that are fading, peeling, blistering or failing. It is good to paint your home when paint deterioration is minimal.
As paint gets older and the deterioration increases, the cost of painting increases. This is because more preparation is required to get the surfaces ready for painting. Sometimes, we think it is better to get the home painted next year or the year after. In fact, this not a good mentality because the cost goes higher and higher every year. If you take care of painting and staining of exterior surfaces early you can get away with one coat. But as we wait, the cost goes higher each season.
Paint little but often for best results
You don’t have to paint all areas at once if it is not needed. The areas that go first are the bottom of window trims, fascia boards and/or the side of the home that sees the most sun. Therefore, to save cost you can paint only those areas that need most this year and other areas a year or even two later.
All in all, Spring is a good time of the year to take a look at your home and see if it needs painting. If it does and you are too busy to do the job yourselves, you can call us Snow Leopard Painters Calgary to give you an estimate for any painting in Calgary and surrounding areas.
